There are no set rules for teen dating, but sometimes it’s good to have a list of dating tips when you are considering going out on a date, especially a first date. Dating tips for teens are not easy to follow, but they will ensure teens are safe and have fun.

Teen Dating Tip #1. Either of you can pay. Usually the boy pays, but it is not a must. You can each pay for your own, or the girl can pay. It depends on your relationship and the situation.

The most important dating tips for teens have to say the following: do not let your date pressure you into going further sexually (or in any other way) than you are ready for or comfortable with. Never let the words “if you really loved me” or “if you really cared about me” make you do something you don’t want to do. The truth is, if he/she really loved you or cared about you, they would respect you and not push you to do something you are not ready for.

Teen Dating Tip #3. Usually teenagers date someone close in age. It doesn’t matter who is older, although usually the boy is older or the same age. A big difference in age is something to be wary of at this age. If there is a huge difference in age, you may be exploited and not even realize it. When we’re talking about dating tips for teens, it’s important to remember that there are perverts out there who take advantage of girls.

Teen Dating Tip #4. Keep the first date light. Do something fun, possibly with another couple or a group of teens.

Teen Dating Tip #5. Don’t make commitments too early in the relationship. You’re still young and have a lot of life decisions ahead of you.

Teen Dating Tip #6. Either of you can drive. Usually the boy drives, but not always. It really doesn’t matter.

Teen Dating Tip #7. Tell your parents, or at least a friend, who you are going out with and where you are going. This is a must-have on any list of dating tips for teens.

Teen Dating Tip #8. Take your cell phone with you and keep it on in case you need it in an emergency.

Teen Dating Tip #9. Don’t drink. This is one of those dating tips for teens that’s hard to follow. If you do drink, don’t drink and drive. Arrange to have someone you can call with no questions asked, should you need a ride home.

Teen Dating Tip #10. Have fun, but be sensible. It’s easy to become involved in the moment and do something you would not usually do.
