Long Distance Relationships

airplaneWhat happens if you or your loved one has to move away and the other person can’t join them?

Every day there are couples who face a scary question in their relationship: is a long distance relationship really worth it? People move, get new jobs, and many different things come up which force someone in the relationship to have to move away.

Couples may wonder if they should keep the relationship going as a long distance relationship, or just break it off all together.

The Fears In Long Distance Relationships

Fear of not being able to see the other person is a major problem in long distance relationships. You just have to find a way to see each other no matter what. Make it into something where it’s not going to be a question of “if,” but rather, “when?” Make it something like food. You need food to survive. Think of it like that. You need to see each other at least once every two months in order for your relationship to survive. When saving money for bills, also save money for airfare or gas money to travel. That way, it becomes a necessity.

Calling Your Long Distance Relationship

Also always make it a habit to call each other every day, at least once a day. It’s good to set a time each day when one person will call the other, even if it’s just to say hello. For example, make it a habit to have a phone call every night at 9 pm.

The Cost of Long Distance Relationship

Long distance relationships can get very costly very quickly. High phone bills will probably arise, and always saving up money will sometimes become a burden. Long distance relationships all depend on the couple. Do you think that it is worth it in the long run? If you do, then don’t listen to the stereotypes that long distance relationships never work. It’s not always true. It is solely up to you and your partner.

People find ways of making love work in the worst of circumstances. If a long distance is your only problem, consider yourself very lucky. And get a family plan for your cell phone.
