Great Places to Meet Men

guysGo where the men are. That’s the most important thing to remember about meeting men.

Too often, we women prefer the company of our close friends or family members. We often spend a lot of time with other women. Women’s social groups, knitting classes, art workshops and coffee plans are all great. But they’re not great places to meet men. We need other women for support and advice. But when it comes to meeting men, we need to step out of our comfort zones. Think to yourself: If I were a man, where would I go? Chances are, you’re not going to answer “shopping for shoes.”

Great Places to Meet Men!

The library: For women who are seeking the scholarly type.

Sports bars: Bars are a great place to meet men, no doubt about it. But will you find your soul mate or your next boyfriend there? Maybe not. But you might as well increase your chances of finding a man at a bar by going to one where men definitely are. Go on the night of the big fight or the big game. Bring a pal–you may look out of place if you’re there by yourself.

Sporting events: See above. Check your local paper or Ticketmaster for the next baseball game, football game or other sporting event. Some women actually enjoy watching sports. If you’re not one of them, go to watch the cute guys in uniforms and the ones you might be sitting next to.

Church: For the women among us who are religious or spiritual, it’s very natural to look for partners at our places of worship. Churches are great places to meet men. Some churches even have singles clubs. If yours doesn’t, why not start one?

Amusement parks: You’re standing in lines a lot, and you might find yourself standing next to a cutie. Also, men like rollercoasters and fast rides. Go to the tallest, fastest ride at the park.

Weddings: Never turn down a wedding invitation, even if you don’t think you can stand to watch another happy couple walk down the aisle. Weddings are great places to meet men. And they’re already in an environment of socially accepted coupledom. Get them while they’re still in that mindset.

Movies: We all love chick films. We want to see Julia Roberts or Renee Zellweger get her man. But if you’re going to the movies to find men, go when the next big action blockbuster is playing. Men like movies with blood and gore, too.

Concerts: Again, you might not find a man at a Sheryl Crow concert, but you’ll definitely find them if a local band is covering Pink Floyd.

School functions: For single moms, this is a must. Go to your child’s assembly, choir recitals, talent shows and everything else. You might find a single lonely daddy.
